The Wordsmyth

Working Title

In 2017, I illustrated 31 Gods, Goddesses & Mythological Creatures as part of the Inktober Challenge. I had also researched and shared stories along with each of the posts. Once all the illustrations were finished and the stories written, I felt like I should compile them into a book. As I set about this task, it became apparent that these stories in themselves had so much nuance and there were so many concepts that overlapped and complemented each other.

So, I decided that it might be fun to turn this into an illustrated novel instead of a coffee table compendium. Thus, while talking with Arpita, who also happens to be a brilliant storyteller, the idea of the Wordsmyth was born. She started writing a story that wove together all the myths and legends. The book is currently in its third draft and coming along rather well.

The Labyrinth

Ever since I was a child I have always been fascinated by patterns and puzzles. For Inktober I wanted to create something that didn’t require as much research but would still be part of a bigger whole instead of just seperate art pieces.
